DEFINITION
To support Team Leader(s) in managing the Team, develop accurate job estimates, and work with the Team to produce the job. This is an AT WILL position.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Receives direction and supervision from the General Manager/Owner. Provides functional supervision of, and direction to, the lead technicians and technicians.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION
- Reviews, proofs, and finalizes each job scope of work with adjusters and clients
- Projects collections on jobs
- Completes an accurate estimate with listings of all items required to complete the repair or mitigation work
- Reviews completed files for profitability and accuracy of the original scope of work
- Attends all Company meetings and functions required of the position
- Participates in personnel selection; provides or coordinates personnel training; sets written expectations for assigned personnel; coaches, develops and holds personnel accountable for meeting expectations; works with employees to correct deficiencies; implements discipline procedures; completes employee evaluations and development plans for career success in the Company
- Attends professional trainings, as directed and appropriate for the position. Gathers approval for requested trainings that may provide benefit to the position
- Recruits, establishes rapport and contracts with specialized subcontractors
- Provides quick and accurate responses to adjusters, agent property managers, tenants and other concerned parties
- Makes initial contact with the insured and the adjuster
- Ensures that all assigned personnel are thoroughly trained in their duties and responsibilities, including safety precautions
- Assists with Company training and other events
- Engage in marketing activities that will lead to additional work from all sources and will develop relationships within the industry for purposes of business recommendations
- Manages details of multiple projects in an organized and efficient manner
- Demonstrates a positive image of the Company to staff and clients; this shall include oral and written communication and visual presentation
- Implements best practices to aid the Company in meetings its vision and mission and in achieving Company goals
- Writes scopes of work for water damage, emergencies, reconstruction, and cleaning estimates, periodically
- Holds responsibility for project coordination/estimation outcomes and issues
- Assists in problem-solving and motivating team members to improve Company efficiencies
- Works with the Project Manager and Office Administration to collect on debts for all projects, as needed
- Applies all safety rules and regulations to work efforts and prevents work hazards
- Respects and maintains the confidentiality of company, client, and personnel information
- Other duties as assigned

- Generate timely information and reports with accuracy and efficiency

- Make progress toward the Company vision
- Manage crises as they occur. Assist in solving problems and in making this a more effective Company
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; must be proficient in reading and writing the English language
- Apply general mathematical and data entry skills
- Apply established Company policies and procedures, including safety procedures and principles
Knowledge of:
- Basic principles and practices of organization and administration
- Modern office practices and technology, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, copiers, telephone, facsimile, etc.
- Proper filing techniques, office efficiencies and timely processing of paperwork
- Appropriate phone skills and resolution of customer complaints and issues
- Industry software: Xactimate, PJM, Encircle and other similar programs
- Professional ethics
- English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation; basic mathematics
- Restoration industry language, practices, and terminology; ability to seek out knowledge if new to the industry
- Company policies and procedures
- Proper pricing and estimating of material needs and costs for projects
- Estimating software and other related programs required for the position
- Company budgets, expenses, business plans and sales goals
- Pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes and regulations that govern the areas of the position
- OSHA safety regulations as they pertain to the restoration industry; maintain an active role in monitoring the safety of yourself and other team members
- Laws, rules, and regulations that govern the areas of your job, including but not limited to project and site management
- Cooperative working relationships and solution-based problem solving
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING/EDUCATION GUIDELINES
Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience:
- Three years industry experience
Training/Education:
- Relevant degree from an accredited college
License and Special Requirements:
- Possession of, or ability to obtain an appropriate, valid California state driver’s license
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must possess:
- Mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle and to visit various customers and meeting sites
- Accurate vision to read printed materials and a computer screen
- Ability to communicate in person, before groups, and over the telephone
- Finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, writing implements, office equipment and calculator
- Ability to stand squat, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, walk, push, pull, crouch and crawl for long periods of time
- Ability to travel up and down ladders
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects, from 50-100 lbs., necessary to perform job functions
- Ability to work in high and/or tight places
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Employees may interact with upset staff and/or public and private representatives in interpreting and enforcing departmental policies and procedures.
- Employee may be subject to uncomfortable working conditions including exposure to extreme heat or cold, dust, noise, unusual heights, wet conditions, confined spaces, electrical currents, and construction hazards.
- Employees may often work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions, and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances.
