DEFINITION
This position is responsible for trailblazing the development and growth of new business while developing and maintaining current working relationships. This person filling this position must be a competitive, passionate and goal-oriented leader who will maximize all business opportunities, proactively create new opportunities and exceed sales targets. This position is integral in the development and implementation of the Company’s development plan and providing input into strategic business growth decisions. This is an AT WILL position.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Receives direction and supervision from the General Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION
- Directs and manages marketing activities in accordance with the Company strategy
- Builds a solid, diversified sales pipeline
- Identifies trendsetting ideas through research; track individual contributors and their accomplishments
- Locates and proposes potential business deals by contacting potential partners; discovers and explores opportunities, analyzes market strategies, examines risks and potential or partner success
- Develops a high performing team to serve the local market needs
- Excels at being a team player, working alongside the teams with the skills to produce sales
- Builds, trains, motivates and coaches the teams to success
- Proactively identifies and prospects new and increasing business opportunities, closes sales, continuously creates, and implements strategies that lead to the continued growth of the Company
- Oversees and manages all Online Marketing activities, including but not limited to building and optimizing Google Ad word campaigns, Search Engine Optimization, web development, search engine ranking, backlink posting, blogging, newsletters and content creation
- Oversees and manages Social Media Marketing
- Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements and developing and negotiating contracts
- Manages the sales administration function and operational performance reporting
- Streamlines processes and systems wherever possible
- Maximizes existing business relationships and comes up with strategies to strengthen the relationship network
- Develops and maintains the annual marketing plan with realistic forecasts for each service type
- Respects and maintains the confidentiality of company, client, and personnel information
- Demonstrates a positive image of the Company to staff and clients; this shall include oral and written communication and visual presentation
- Increases job knowledge by attending educational trainings, reading professional publications, and maintaining professional networks
- Enhances the Company’s reputation by accepting ownership of innovative work accomplishments and by exploring opportunities to provide “value added” to project accomplishments

QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to:
- Develop, implement and manage an annual business development plan
- Self-motivate, work autonomously and be enthusiastic and aggressive when it comes to sales
- Stay informed on industry trends, issues and news
- Work calmly under pressure
- Travel locally and abroad
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key industry partners
- Manage industry partner relationships including contract negotiations, managing commission structures, evaluation of industry discounts and familiarizations
- Work with key personnel to ensure all business opportunities for the Company are managed professionally and cross selling of opportunities is maximized
- Manage people, processes and documentation
- Attend industry trade and consumer events along with networking opportunities and other relevant seminars/conventions/meetings/trainings
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted through the course of work; gain cooperation through discussion and persuasion
- Make progress toward the Company vision
- Manage crises as they occur. Assist in solving problems and in making this a more effective Company
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; must be proficient in reading and writing the English language
- Apply general mathematical and data entry skills, including the use of a mobile smart phone device
- Apply established Company policies and procedures
Knowledge of:
- Marketing concepts, people management, sales planning and management, competitive analysis, negotiation tactics, market research and analysis
- Basic principles and practices of organization and administration; finance, management and business acumen
- Modern office practices and technology, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, copiers, telephone, facsimile, smart phones, etc.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING/EDUCATION GUIDELINES
Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience:
- Three years’ industry experience as a Business Development or Marketing Manager
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a sales-driven team
- High level contract negotiation experience
- Marketing and product development experience
Training/Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management, Marketing or a related field
License and Special Requirements:
- Possession of, or ability to obtain an appropriate, valid North Carolina state driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
- Computer literate with knowledge and experience with the Internet as a sales vehicle, MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must possess:
- Mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle and to visit various partner or meeting sites
- Accurate vision to read printed materials and a computer screen
- Ability to communicate in person and over the telephone
- Finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, writing implements, office equipment and calculator
- Ability to occasionally bend, kneel, stoop, walk, push, and pull drawers open and closed to retrieve and file information
- Ability to lift 25 lbs. necessary to perform job functions
